Katherine Watson vs. Charles Dickens
Katherine Watson in the movie "Mona Lisa Smile" teaching style was implied on her own. She basically taught what she wanted and how she wanted. She was basically being herself and showing who she was in her teachings. She was opening up the students eyes in her class letting the know that there are always better things out there to do other than becoming housewives and getting married to start a family. She also was a caring teacher. She cared for her students by giving them advice and suggestions on things. Even though she was bargaining into their lives with her knowledge, they didn't think it was a bad thing but it was in the 1950's and on that campus. They had rules she necessarily didn't like so instead she left and wished the girls their best in life. Charlies Dickens in the novel "Hard Times" teaching style was based on facts just like Katherine Watson teaching style was. Charles were asking questions about the students lives and comparing them with other real life situations in the world that he knew were right. Charles teaching skills also showed how much he cared about his students and their importance of facts in their lives.
