Applebee's & Plato's Closet

I chose Applebee's because I LOVE food & at my age I could work there as a Hostess. A hostess greets the customers as they come in and leave out, smile, be polite to others, show them to a clean table and get them seated , inform them that a waiter will be at there table shortly. As far as pay, the hostess gets part of the waitresses tips plus their check at the end of the week or every 2 weeks depending on who attends the job. This job is easy and very understandable, you really don't have to have any experience to become a Hostess. I returned and did another search because I LOVE fashion and I LOVE to dress, I picked Plato's Closet. At my age I could work at Plato's Closet as a cashier. Being a cashier there, would be easy because I ring up the items, inform the customers on their price, take the money, give change back if needed, bag the items, and be nice and polite and recommend that they come back soon. A cashier is a person who would be handling payments and receipts at a store, bank, or other businesses. To handle money you would have to be very trustworthy. I would prove to my Manager that I am trustworthy. As far as experience to work at Plato's Closet, you have to know how to count and use a cash register and I have that experience. If you're still in school the best way to attend an interview would be in your school uniform, the questions they ask you are simple. Just be prepared for them. To prepare for a job interview, online you could check out the type of questions most jobs ask and study the questions until your answer to the questions makes sense. This job is appropriate for students my age because its a good experience for any other applicants who wants to apply. The level of difficulty to finding a job online would be a 6 because its kind of hard trying to find a job online but applying for it online is really simple. You have to make sure you meet all the requirements before you apply. When applying at restaurants make sure you apply at the job instead of online because its easier. Applying at a retail store you would have to apply online because most retail stores require a resume'.

Homeless To Harvard

The film " Homeless To Harvard" was a very interesting film. If someone would've told me this story and I've never the seen the movie or heard of this story I would've never believed them. I would think that this is so impossible and there's no way you could be homeless all your life then all of a sudden get a scholarship to get into Harvard. It seems so unrealistic, but now that I watched it and understood the process it took for her to get to where she is, it makes more sense to me now. It's kind of sad how her mom died. I wouldn't have expected her mom to die because of aids. This tells that if a homeless woman with no support from her family for her to succeed, I shouldn't have no type of excuse to not be successful. It also gives me another reason to not do drugs or go near any type of drug. My favorite part of this film was when her friend tried to bring her down and instead of Liz Murray going down with her and becoming homeless again she decided to get her friend to be successful with her. Her friend didn't want to go to school or anything. That was my favorite part of the film because she was maturing and she knew what she wanted to do and what she had to be successful. Even though she came out of an unstable home, she still focused and worked hard to be successful. I admire her most for that.
